While Hurricane Ida batters Louisiana to the east, Texas is remaining mostly unphased by the storm. But South Texas could see more precipitation this week along with slightly cooler temperatures.
The National Weather service is predicting isolated showers and thunderstorm activity across most of the Austin-San Antonio area on Monday.
By midweek, rain chances will lessen and be limited to areas along and east of the I-35 corridor while temperatures dip to the low to mid-90s by the end of the week.
While Ida isn’t predicted to directly impact Texas, the NWS says the state will see deteriorating beach and marine conditions, including dangerous rip currents, rough seas and coastal flooding.
