The family of a man who was shot and killed by a former Hays County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him.

The move comes after conversations with the community to enhance school safety. Comal ISD has 20 elementary schools.

A woman found dead 44 years ago on Highway 290 near Elgin has finally been identified.
