3 hospitalized after shooting outside La Bona Vida Event Center
Three people were hospitalized after gunshots reportedly rang out at a Northeast Side event venue early Sunday, April 7. The shooting reportedly took place as a large crowd of people were gathered outside of the event center.
The shooting was reported to police at around 2:45 a.m. at the La Bona Vida Event Center. Officials said that event center security told police they saw “multiple muzzle flashes” coming from across the street when the shots rang out. The three people who were shot were reportedly taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and that a fourth injured individual may have driven away from the scene of the shooting.
Police reported they found several shell casings and evidence in the area where security reported seeing the muzzle flashes, but noted they do not know how many suspected shooters there were nor do they know what a motive is for the shooting. Officials said that police were not able to get much information from witnesses.
SAPD is continuing to investigate. No other injuries were reported.
The event center, located at 11135 Wye Drive, San Antonio, TX 78217, is available to rent for events like weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras, and other private and corporate events. It is not immediately clear what type of event was taking place at the time of the reported shooting.
