Live updates: Ted Cruz, Colin Allred meet in first, and only, Texas Senate race debate

With less than a week shy of the start of early voting in Texas, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman (TX-32) Colin Allred are facing off in their first and only debate as they battle it out for the U.S. Senate. The debate will be held in-studio at Dallas’ ABC affiliate WFAA and will air on KENS 5 in San Antonio. Watch the hour-long debate live at 7 p.m. 

4 p.m. What to know about the Cruz vs Allred debate

According to WFAA, rules for the debate have been set as follows:

Candidates will get 60 seconds to introduce themselves, followed by 90 seconds to answer a question. The opponent will then get 90 seconds to respond with another 60 seconds for rebuttal from the first candidate. Moderators will have a 60-second follow-up if needed.

Candidates will get 60 seconds to make their final pitch to end the debate.
