Welcome to your 30-day podcast launch plan! As the host of I Am Refocused Radio, I’ve had the honor of sharing over 1,000 interviews with guests whose stories inspire, educate, and connect with audiences. Your podcast can do the same—build trust, create connection, and leave a lasting impact. Let’s break it down.
Week 1: Plan with Purpose
- Define Your Podcast’s Mission
- Ask yourself: What do I want my audience to feel or take away after every episode?
- Get clear on your niche and audience. A focused vision will help you stand out.
- Outline Your First 5 Episodes
- Plan topics that resonate with your mission.
- Consider guests who can share authentic stories that spark trust and connection. (Pro Tip: Encourage guests to share lessons from their journey, not just their successes.)
- Gather Equipment
Start simple but effective:- Microphone: Blue Yeti or Shure MV7 for great sound.
- Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-M50X for clear audio monitoring.
- Recording Software: Audacity (free) or Riverside.fm for remote interviews.
- Hosting Platform: Buzzsprout, Spreaker, Omnystudio or Anchor to publish your show.

Week 2: Build Your Foundation
- Record Your Trailer
- Create a 1–2 minute episode introducing your podcast. Share your “why” and tell listeners what to expect.
- Design Your Branding
- Podcast cover art should be clean and eye-catching. Use tools like Canva or hire a designer.
- Write a compelling podcast description with keywords for searchability.
- Test Your Equipment
- Do a test run to check audio quality. Record a mock interview or solo episode and adjust your setup as needed.
- GET ON YOUTUBE
- Start a YouTube channel for your podcast. Upload full episodes, clips, or behind-the-scenes content.
- Use YouTube to drive downloads and reach a wider audience.
- When I started appearing on camera, I gained 500 new subscribers. Showing your face builds trust and connection with your audience, and YouTube’s algorithm helps you grow.
Week 3: Create and Connect
- Record Your First Episodes
- Stick to your plan but stay flexible. Authenticity is key.
- Make your guest feel comfortable. Warm up with easy questions, then dive into meaningful topics.
- Edit with Care
- Use editing software to clean up your audio. Cut filler words and long pauses, but leave room for natural flow.
- Start Building an Audience
- Share teasers, post the links on your favorite platform (focus on where you have the most active audience first)
- Don’t listen to the outside noise. People will naturally tell you you can’t do something—especially if it’s something they’ve never done. Focus on your show and your process. If you stay committed, your support will grow.
- Network on PodMatch
- PodMatch is a great platform to connect with like-minded people who love podcasting.
- I’ve personally received over 100+ reviews on PodMatch and have joined their exclusive podcast network. This platform has helped me grow my network with other podcasters and potential guests.
Week 4: Launch and Learn
- Publish Your Trailer and First Episodes (Optional)
- Release at least 2–3 episodes on launch day to give listeners more to enjoy. If you rather jump right into the first episode that works too, but make it clear the show’s goal.
- Promote Your Podcast
- Share your episodes across all platforms. Use YouTube to promote your podcast with eye-catching thumbnails and titles.
- Engage with your audience on social media and YouTube.
- Ask for Feedback
- Encourage listeners to leave reviews. Reviews build credibility and help your show grow.
Bonus: Let’s Scale Your Show
If you’re serious about growing your podcast, I’ve got proven systems that work. I’ve managed successfully scaled shows, with case studies to back it up. From audience engagement strategies to automating workflows, I can help you take your podcast to the next level.
